Short Haircut

With thanks to the media explosion, people are becoming increasingly aware of their appearance. And more so of the ever changing trends, fashions and fads. And it is not just about clothes, but hair, cosmetics, accessories and all else that makes for an individual’s complete appearance. What is even more interesting is that women are ready to experiment and tread into those zones where only a few adventurous ones would. And thankfully, women have realized that age is a matter of only a formality, as one can be as ageless as ever, thereby donning any look they want.

And so, a short haircut is not just meant for the school-going children, or adventurous college-going youngsters, or the hardworking career women, who are rubbing shoulders with their male counterparts. Even the fulltime homemakers and after forties, fifties, sixties, seventies, enter salons requesting for trendy short haircut styles.

But then, obviously people remember also the respectability they need to maintain and so, those into their forties restrict themselves to something that is in fashion and avoid the funky haircut styles that are meant for the younger lot. It is not a matter of age where this is concerned, but respectability. And in order to command respect from the younger lot, one needs to be fashionable in dignified way.

Most hairdressers have hoards of women’s short or medium hairstyles. In fact, though they may use the same technique for a style, yet no two women getting the same style done would look similar. This is because of the differences in the texture of the hair and the way it falls. Also, a lot depends on how one maintains their hairdo, which is rather an individual thing.

The latest trendy hairstyles seem to be the revival of the blunt or bob cut with the variations. This style gives bounce to the hair and also tends to cut the age factor. And importantly, one does not require a particular face-cut in order to be able to carry off this style.

For the adventurous and wild lot there are the super short haircuts for women. These are more like spiky cuts, with no style-technique as such. The hair is just cropped short to the length ranging from an inch to say three or four inches. For the slightly longer strands the style is in steps or layered, like the men’s short hairstyles.
